Our Senior School scholars gathered in the Black Box Theatre on Tuesday, 1st September for a special celebration welcoming our newest scholars.
Academic Deputy Head Dr Grindlay reminded everyone that scholarship isn't about cherry-picking success, but bringing resilience and dedication to every area of School life — embodying our philosophy of ‘The whole person, the whole point.’

She also shared advice on authenticity, encouraging scholars to find their own unique voice rather than copy others. Levée scholars Chi and Rose echoed this sentiment, offering wise words to our new cohort about trying their best and embracing failure as part of growth.
To wrap up the event, Head of Senior School, Mr Robert Groves, and Principal Mr Bruce Grindlay presented each new Academic, Drama, Music, Design and Technology, Art, and Sports scholar with their scholar pin.
Huge congratulations to our newest scholars — we can’t wait to watch you thrive at RST! ✨
For students interested in a finance pathway, typical A Level choices include Economics, Maths and Further Maths. We’re proud to share that our students performed remarkably well in these subjects this year, with 64% achieving A* or A grades - providing a perfect launchpad for studying finance at university.
Congratulations to all our students on their fantastic achievements!
