With over 4000 total international students enrolled (no. 3 in Japan!), Ritsumeikan has a rich history of providing top notch education to students from all around the globe.

Application to our degree programs is easy, and can be done from the comfort of your home through a simple and straightforward online application. Moreover, it’s possible to be selected for certain scholarships before coming to Japan, which are notified to you when you receive your university admission results. These include things like the Ritsumeikan University “Saionji” award, which provides a monthly stipend for undergraduate students, the “JASSO” scholarship, which similarly provides students with a monthly stipend, 100%, 50%, and 20% Tuition Reduction for undergraduates, the “Academic Excellence Award”, which reduces master’s program tuition fees by a fixed amount rather than a percentage, and the 100% Tuition Reduction award for master’s/doctoral program applicants. After enrollment, students of all levels may apply for further scholarship from outside the school and for grants and funding from within the university.
